Who We Are:
Picture A Healthier World (PAHW) is a global community of photography enthusiasts, professional photographers, and photography consumers with a shared belief in our collective capacity to create a healthier world. We are passionate about photography, and about making our world a better place.
Mission:
PAHW is a social venture with a multi-pronged mission to:
- EMPOWER photography enthusiasts and shoppers to support global health and human rights by contributing or purchasing photographs;
- CELEBRATE the diversity of cultures and environments that span our globe;
- RAISE AWARENESS of relevant global health and human rights issues through photographs on the Picture A Healthier World website; and
- IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING of communities worldwide.
How It Works:
The PAHW website serves as a platform through which individuals can support communities across the globe in an ongoing and inclusive way. We invite all interested photo hobbyists, as well as professional photographers, to donate a photo(s) for sale in print and/or digital format, depending on the preference of the artist.
All items on the PAHW website are priced so that $5 from the purchase price of each item (equivalent to 100% of net profits) directly supports FXB's projects to fight poverty and AIDS, and care for the world's orphans left in the wake of the pandemic. Sales support FXB's projects in the country where the photograph was taken, or where assistance is most urgently needed.
Under each photograph, we list and update daily the number of donation dollars raised by sales of the image. We will email a $25 Amazon gift card to contributors whose image(s) sell at least 15 print items and/or digital files each calendar year.
Vision:
The PAHW community shares a vision of a world where women, children, and families have access to the medical care, nutrition, and education they need to live healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.
