Global Health Awareness Through Photography
Posted: April 10, 2012
From March 30 to April 6, the University of Southern California (USC) celebrated
Global Health Awareness Week (GHAW) - an initiative started by the Global Health Review in an effort to raise awareness and engage local communities in examining global health issues.

As part of GHAW, USC hosted a Film and Photo Contest, asking students submit examples of how they were able to capture global health issues with digital media. Check out the photographs and films
here.
I wanted to feature USC's contest as a reminder that a key part of PAHW's mission is to raise awareness of critical global health and human rights issues through our photographs. As you browse through the photographs on the site, you will see a number of photographs (such as in the
Haiti section of the website) that communicate health crises.
If you have a photograph that speaks to a health crisis or human rights violation anywhere in the world, please
submit it to the PAHW platform as a step to help raise awareness.
